„Dear Democracy, …“
sharing letters. sharing lives
Between 14–24 February 2025, the Bauhaus-Archiv invites you to write love letters: to democracy, to a pluralistic and open society.
“Dear Democracy,…” the Correctiv research in 2023 showed us that democratic values must be protected every day. This is especially true in politically challenging times when the liberal democratic values of our society are under attack. With the upcoming elections, we are campaigning for democracy as our form of society and government.
What kind of world do we want to live in and how do we want to live together?
These questions were not only important to the Bauhaus around 100 years ago, when it was confronted with enemies of democracy. They are also central today as we reflect on the future of our society and coexistence.
If you can't visit us but still want to participate, you can send us a letter via ag.diversity@bauhaus.de.
“Dear Democracy, ...” is part of Raum für Demokratie - an initiative from the Federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung/bpb). It also takes place as part of the campaign week Mutig. Menschlich. Miteinander., organized by the alliance Hand in Hand, which is supported by Die VIELEN e. V..
The Bauhaus-Archiv sees itself as an open, welcoming place and has adopted a Code of Conduct in 2024. Letters that violate this Code of Conduct will be removed by us.
