SpaceShip Museum?
Conference on early-childhood cultural education in the museum-daycare context
Venue: ANOHA – The Children’s World of the Jewish Museum Berlin, Fromet-und-Moses-Mendelssohn-Platz 1, 10969 Berlin
The “SpaceShip Museum” on its way through a universe of endless possibilities with children at the helm: What challenges might we encounter on our journey?
We invite museum staff, educators, preschool teachers and pedagogical professionals to a conference of impulse lectures, practical examples, discussions and workshops. Together we wish to examine various methods and formats of participation and communication.
What possibilities can we come up with to navigate the “SpaceShip Museum”? What do children want? What promotes sustainable encounters? How do we best design common learning venues and places of experience? What role do artistic approaches play in this? How do we engage children with cultural education projects that are age-appropriate, process-oriented and open-ended? How do we forge connections between the children’s living and social environments and the museum setting?
In our changing society, museums are moving toward and creating possibilities of greater democratic self-determination and responsibility for young visitors. The SpaceShip Museum has set its course toward sustainable goals: participation and cooperation are already in the logbook. The time has come to test these in a practice run!
The conference on early-childhood cultural education in the museum-daycare context is an event by the Jewish Museum Berlin in cooperation with the Bauhaus_SpaceLab: Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung, Jugend im Museum e.V., Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus.
The conference is fully booked.
