Judith Raum: Fabrics in revolt
Lecture Performance
The lecture performance by the Berlin artist Judith Raum focuses on works by the Bauhaus textile designer Otti Berger and the year 1933 when the National Socialists seized power and forced the Bauhaus to close. It was also the year the Bauhaus textile workshop published its last collection catalogue of curtain fabrics. With video projections and texts, Judith Raum explores the economic and political context in which these fabrics were created. In her live performance, she presents various architectural areas of application and emphasises the striking contrast between the fabrics’ aesthetic-technical potential for modern architecture and the fact that we still know so little about it.
Note: The lecture will be performed in English from 7.15 – 8 pm. Find more information and the registration form here.
